Tonight I stumbled upon an amazing discovery- the story behind my favorite stone, labradorite. . . According to the Inuit origin myth for labradorite, the aurora borealis, or northern lights, were once trapped inside of the rocks along the coast of Labrador.  An Inuit warrior discovered this, struck the rocks with his spear, and set the lights free.  However, some remained trapped in the stone, which we now mine as labradorite.

 wow.  that is so cool.
